About us
Big Rock Ranch was born from the need to find somewhere to ride cow horses on cattle, outside of the competition ring. Getting into team penning, cutting and other cow sports is often made harder, by the lack of facilities, to train a fresh horse, new rider...or both! That's where Big Rock Ranch comes in...
Situated in the Mary Valley at Brooloo, under the Brooloo Bluff near Imbil, Big Rock Ranch is a 70 acre property bordered by Coonoon Gibber Creek. Big Rock Ranch was created as a relaxed environment, for riders to bring their horses and develop their cattle skills, through calm exposure in small groups... without the pressure of competition!
What we do
Here at Big Rock Ranch we run Cattle Sessions for small groups, Arena hire and newly added, Ranch Riding with Trail. We also offer private bookings and lessons on request. Our focus is on offering you our facilities to progress your training with your horse.

We have a purpose built sand arena with high timber rails and the Australian made "Wazza Cow" mechanical flag for your warm ups and specific technique focus. Our herd of cattle consists of a small breeding mob and around a dozen weaners for cattle work. There is also a yard for the team penners.
Our newly built permanent Ranch Trail consists of 12 obstacles, including gate, bridge, roping dummy and many more.
